    Day 1

    Negombo is known for its huge and old fishing industry with busy fish markets and sandy beaches. Start with a walk to The Dutch Fort close to the seafront near the lagoon. Then some famous religious places, mostly catholic churches would be ideal to relax after arrival. Visit Sri lanka’s second largest fish market and go the Dutch canal boat tour (100km long canal network).

    Go to Kithulgala located in the Sabaragamuwa province. Water rafting is an extremely popular sport here. Jungle trekking, bird watching and cave exploration can be arranged according to guest’s interest.

    After breakfast drive towards the town of Ella. Stop to look at the beautiful sceneries on the way to Ella. Guests can taste some of the finest Sri Lankan food here.

    Head towards Monaragala (Peacock rock). Visit ancient Buddhist sites at Yudaganawa and then nearby Maligawila.continue to Arugambay.

    Take your time to enjoy the pristine beaches of the east coast perhaps hire a moped to take a trip to the small fishing village of Panama where you will find a secluded lagoon style beach. Surfing is one of the best experiences in Arugambay with lots of places to rent a surfboard. Relax on the beach and enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants. The Jungle safari at Kumana in the evening would be a great opportunity to see the wild life.

    Start the journey and reach Katharagama.Kataragama Deviyo is the Hindu war-god, at whose shrine at Kataragama, in the South-West coast of the Island, thousands of pilgrims from all parts of India and Ceylon visit annually for worship. There are wonderful Buddhist, Hindu temples and so many attractions to visit.
