    Day 1

    Negombo is known for its huge and old fishing industry with busy fish markets and beautiful sandy beaches. Start with a walk to The Dutch Fort close to the seafront near the lagoon. Then some time to visit the famous religious places, mostly catholic churches would be ideal to relax after your arrival. Visit Sri lanka’s second largest fish market and enjoy the Dutch canal boat tour (100km long canal network).

    Day 2

    Travel to Pinnawala elephant orphanage and continue to Dambulla. It is located in the central province of Sri Lanka and it's the centre of vegetable distribution in the country. Visit the World Heritage Site of the golden cave temple of Dambulla.

    Day 3

    After breakfast climb to the top of Sigiriya in the morning and in the evening drive to Kandalama Lake to catch the wonderful sunset.

    Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress built in the fifth century by king Kassapa.There are ponds, gardens, caves, monasteries, and palaces with beautiful wall motifs. In the afternoon, go for a tour of Polonnaruwa, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka.

    Day 5

    En route to Kandy, stop at the herbal centre of spices. Students of Ayurveda will explain the benefits and the properties of the herbs. Arrive to Kandy in the afternoon. Sit and relax by the Kandy Lake and visit the famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth.

    Day 6

    Take a walk in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, exploring the 300 varieties of orchids of Sri Lanka or visit an Ayurvedic hospital to learn about Ayurvedic oil massage treatments. Take a stroll around the well-laid out walkways of the city and don't miss the famed Palm Avenues. In the evening, enjoy a Kandyan cultural dance performance.

    Day 7

    Arrive at Nuwara Eliya, the town also known as 'Little England'. It offers a lot of options for visitors. Explore the nature trails, visit the famous tea plantations or even go golfing or horseback riding.

    Drive down from the hill district towards beach country. Cross the famous Udawalawe Reserve. Elephants are in abundance here and come strolling alongside the roads. Make several stops to observe these mighty creatures before settling down for the evening. Stay at an eco-lodge in a tented camp near the reserve on the banks of the river. With some luck, witness elephants walking along the riverside.

    Day 9

    Enjoy a walking tour through the wilderness and see a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Meet local farmers and learn about their way of life. Later, drive to Hikkaduwa beach for some serious relaxation. Hikkaduwa is the perfect beach destination for whale watching, surfing and other water sports.

    Day 10

    Visit stilt fishermen near Galle. The fisherman, already on their poles, will be waiting patiently to catch fish. Later, visit the famous Galle Fort in this charming colonial city. Return to Hikkaduwa for the night.

    Drive to Colombo a trading town with 2,000 years of history. We recommend an orientation tour of the fort area or take a walk around the Pettah Bazaar in the afternoon. where you can buy many souvenirs and electronics. If you would prefer to relax, enjoy the view of Colombo from one of the many roof top bars.
